Select the right person
When you help more than one relative, first confirm which care circle is open. Separate circles keep each person’s tasks and documents apart. A familiar family name is not enough if several plans exist; check the cared-for person before using an address, contact or appointment detail.
Confirm the task and deadline
Look at what you have agreed to do and when it must happen. Check whether someone else has already completed it or whether the time has changed. Do not assume that reading a task means you have accepted it; make responsibility clear through the available ownership workflow.
Read the latest relevant handover
Look for practical changes that affect your visit, such as an unavailable item or an arranged provider call. Use shared contacts if a clarification is needed. Avoid treating a family note as professional medical instruction, especially when specialist preparation or safety advice is required.
Close the loop afterwards
Once the agreed work is complete, update the task and add a concise handover when useful. If the plan changed, explain the next action and agree who will take it. This creates a short cycle that makes the following visitor’s two-minute check more useful.
