Confirm cover for the actual dates

List the visits, transport and practical calls during the absence. Ask the covering helpers to accept specific commitments and check their availability. Include the day before departure and the first day after return when necessary. Caremily shows shared tasks, but it does not book professional cover or guarantee that somebody will be available.

Check roles and useful information

Invite only the people who need the care circle and choose suitable roles. Helpers can read contacts, tasks and handovers but cannot access private documents. If the covering person genuinely needs documents, review the appropriate caregiver role rather than posting private content in a broad note. Confirm contact numbers before travelling.

Write a short handover with next steps

Record what is already arranged, what still needs doing and when the next visit is expected. Create tasks for unfinished actions and use exact deadlines where they matter. Avoid a long history of every previous visit. A clear example is “transport confirmed Tuesday; call the service Thursday before noon; shopping due Friday”.

Agree direct communication during the absence

State when the travelling caregiver can be reached and who coordinates urgent changes locally. Optional app notifications are not an emergency channel and can be delayed by device or network conditions. After returning, review the latest handovers and open tasks rather than assuming the old schedule is still current.
