Choose the minimum useful file
Ask whether the document is needed for everyday coordination and whether the person receiving care agrees to appropriate sharing. Avoid uploading unrelated pages or unnecessary identifiers. Caremily accepts selected PDF, JPG and PNG files up to 5 MB; it is not a replacement for a provider’s required records or long-term clinical archive.
Confirm the care circle and role
In Family, admins and caregivers can add and view private documents; helpers cannot. Contacts, tasks and handovers have a wider helper audience. Check the selected person before uploading, especially when you help more than one relative. Restricted document access does not make every piece of information elsewhere in the care circle private.
Name the file clearly
Use a practical name that explains the document without revealing unnecessary personal detail. Check that the selected file opens and is the current copy. Do not promise a version-control or approval workflow that the application does not provide. If the family needs to decide which copy is current, record that agreement explicitly.
Understand copies outside the application
A document opened in another viewer or copied elsewhere may remain outside Caremily. Signing out clears the application’s temporary document cache, not every external copy. Keep device access and external sharing under control. Caremily uses private storage and role-based access, but responsible document handling still depends on the people using it.
