Spot the request inside the update

Read the handover for unfinished practical work: a call, purchase, booking or clarification. Separate this from information that only needs to be recorded. A note can describe several changes, but not every change needs a task. Choose the next concrete action rather than creating a broad instruction such as “sort everything out”.

Create the task in the same care circle

Use an action title, an exact deadline where necessary and an agreed owner. Make sure the correct cared-for person is selected before saving. In Caremily, separate care circles keep plans apart. Do not assume that a task in one person’s care is visible to everybody helping another person in the family.

Confirm responsibility in conversation

Ask the intended helper to take the task and check availability. A handover that mentions a name does not itself prove acceptance. If the work depends on another action, agree the order and deadlines together. Caremily supports task ownership; it should not be presented as automatically managing every dependency or escalating unanswered requests.

Record the outcome once

After completing the work, mark the task done and leave only the additional context the next caregiver needs. “office called; Thursday time unchanged” may be enough. If a new action emerges, create it separately. This avoids long chains of contradictory notes while retaining the practical history of what happened at the visit.
